Hi Guys,

Just wondering if you have anymore info on a possible 2.3.5 update for this device?

I see over the past couple of weeks samsung/vodafone have been releasing Kies updates for:

I9100BUKJ3 2.3.5

Vodafone Romania
Vodafone Portugal
Vodafone Greece
Vodafone Germany
Vodafone Czech
Vodafone UK
Vodafone Spain

Will nz be following??

Have you noticed whether 2.3.4 is released in NZ yet?

Losing hope for any update, doesn't seem that high on the priority list. As soon as an official ICS update is released i'll be flashing it manually.

Any news on when an official update will be available to take the S2 to 2.3.5? I picked up a new handset from Vodafone on Friday for a staff member, and that has 2.3.5 installed, but the rest of us here are still on 2.3.3

Have you installed Samsung KIES on a windows PC and checked for any handset updates?

You need to do this over USB with the handset plugged into a PC

Kies still says CSC:KG1(VNZ) is up to date. Looks like next year then, as I highly doubt anyone at Voda is going to do anything this week.

Ah, so it's Samsung that need to pull finger? I didn't know that. Anyone's guess then as to the time line.

I managed an update to 2.3.4, using just the internal software update on the Galaxy S2 and a wireless connection.

That's interesting news. My internal software update says nothing is available, though I'm on 3G at the moment (does that matter?).

Shouldn't be. I just checked for an update and it said no, and that was via 3G.

I've just checked again and I'm still showing 2.3.3 as being the most recent. We recently bought my wife the same model phone from JB Hi Fi and her's is showing 2.3.5. I'm getting a bit miffed with Vodafone about this. Afterall... the firmware is tagged as "VNZ" / KG3. The JB Hi Fi model (confirmed as coming from Samsung NZ) is KI3 (2.3.5). I don't see how Samsung is the cause of this delay when this revision of firmware on my device is specifically Vodafone's variation.

You should only use Samsung KIES with the phone plugged into a PC over USB to check for updates OTA updates are only introducd in 2.3.5 as I understand

Does someone have a link for a stock rom that they updated with?
What's the latest 2.3.6? or 2.3.5?

Cheers,

OK, John, I've done this - updated the Kies software itself today, and plugged in my Galaxy S2 2.3.3, and it still says that the current firmware is the latest. This is PDA:KG3 / PHONE:KE7 / CSC:KG1 (VNZ).

How do we get Samsung to release the next firmware update which you've said is okayed by VF?
