Sweet! :P

What is the average backhaul for a site in this type of location & population base John?

Ok I'm assuming the Matamata 3g site is now on as I'm getting a 3/5 signal now for 3g and the vodem is switching to HSDPA fine.
Here are some speed test results:

I've had to fire up my vodem as the old's not-so-reliable TelstraClear connection failed again...

I was surprised those figures are low, but I'm only on a 2 bar signal
yet the response I'm getting from the network still feels fairly good

Slightly OT but with this type of internet connection, does Vodafone use an optimizer of some sort? or are the speedtest sites now smart enough to detect its a mobile connection?

Reason I ask, I tried the vodem today (in perfect 2100mhz coverage in hamilton (nawton)), tried a speed test and the download part of it was over in around 2 seconds yet it goes for around 10 secs when doing it on DSL, the speedtest on the vodem is so quick that the download speed to me doesn't get a chance to get to maximum.

This is a result from the vodafone nz speedtest:

Last Result:
Download Speed: 967 kbps (120.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 353 kbps (44.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 200 ms

Ok have had a chance to speed-test Matamata 3g 900mhz, but I don't think this is right:

I just did a 28mb download (from telstraclear) and it went fairly quick
