The Vodafone Forum is a bit of an experiment on our part and to make life easier in the short term we've disabled embedding URLs in general.
Instead we will be building a white list of URLs that are acceptable. That way we won't (hopefully) be inundated with forum spam and nobody will slip an unpleasant URL into a discussion without us being aware of it.
Of course, we're open to discussion on the topic. This is a Forum after all - so feel free to tell us if that's OK or if you have a different approach you'd recommend.

Hmmm, a bit restrictive in my opinion, but not a bad idea to start out with.
I mod the open discussion part of the Gameplanet Forums, and beneath each post there is a 'Report to Moderator' button - click on that, give a reason why you are reporting the post, and then an email is sent out to all the moderators of OpenDiscussion with the details.
Could something similar be setup here?

could be the best answer I think... I'm not enjoying not being able to cut/paste URLs directly into the box.
still, plenty of time to tutu.
welcome on board!

There is a Report button at the end of every post on these forums already, lol!

It does work with the report option, however currently it emails a list of mods/admins and expects us to do something about it. This requires us to then police the site which isn't something that I enjoy doing.
If perhaps the intelligence behind it is that it hides posts with 3 people that report it? then it removes any bad posts
